The key scientific participants presented below have been identified based on the work that they have done to identify the importance of genetic markers in the detection and treatment of cancer in African Americans and Africans.  They include leading African American scientists, such as Prof. Funmi Olopade, Dr. John Carpten and Prof. Rick Kittles and many others who have done groundbreaking work. Similarly, African and US biomedical researchers and policymakers have been identified, along with representatives of civil society and policymakers. The goal is to develop new insights that could guide future programs on cancer detection and treatment in Africans and African Americans.
